About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems develops mission-critical systems to keep people safe, applying advanced technologies like AI, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native, and Quantum Physics to solve customer missions in cyber, RF, undersea, and interstellar domains. The Principal Field Support Representative acts as a system technical advisor for customer leadership, installing and repairing equipment, instructing customers, providing technical assistance, and checking for malfunctions. This role involves conducting technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements, troubleshooting technical problems, determining solutions, and recommending actions. The representative will also assess product needs, conduct technical training and briefings, and serve as a local on-site representative to customer organizations. Requirements

  • Minimum of 25 weeks of military technical training school, along with an additional thirteen years of related experience
  • OR, two years of directly related non-military technical trade school or the equivalent experience, along with an additional thirteen years of related experience
  • OR, Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or the equivalent experience, along with an additional nine years of related experience
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Proficient in the use of software tools such as HyperTerminal
  • Proficiency of test and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a system technical advisor for all levels of customer leadership
  • Install and repair equipment
  • Instruct customers in equipment operation
  • Provide technical assistance
  • Check equipment for malfunctions
  • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues
  • Determine technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications
  • Recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution
  • Assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications
  • Conduct technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives
  • Act as local on-site representative to customer's organization
