In your role, you may work from the following Medtronic sites: Mounds View, Minnesota North Haven, Connecticut This role will require up to 50% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects. The Principal Equipment Engineer is responsible for driving enterprise-wide equipment reliability and maintenance excellence across manufacturing operations. This role establishes best practice standards for equipment performance and maintenance strategies while leading the deployment of the Enterprise Maintenance Excellence (MEx) roadmap as part of the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), leveraging Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles. The position provides technical expertise to improve equipment uptime, resolve complex equipment issues, and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies that support a zero-loss, zero-downtime mindset. In addition, the Principal Equipment Engineer leads and develops a high-performing engineering team responsible for the global equipment inventory and partners closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and process engineering teams across multiple sites. This role collaborates with internal and external experts to strengthen technical capabilities, drives root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives, and fosters strong cross-functional relationships within a large, matrixed organization to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations.
