About The Position

Responsible for the design and governance of information systems that support the Bank’s enterprise architecture. Analyzes and understands client and user needs in order to participate in creating the optimal outcome. Evaluates technology and associated operational processes and recommends designs that will enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability. Designs and develops Information Technology (IT) technical infrastructure, such as hardware, software, network resources, security, and services for new and changing infrastructure. Provides detailed requirements of design and ensures security and policy compliance requirements. Requires a background and knowledge of systems administration, software development, information security, and IT Infrastructure architecture. Typically has experience with on-site technology and cloud services. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Two+ years in three different technology areas including but not limited to IaaS PaaS, ERPs, hosting, Data Centers, etc.
  • Eight+ years of IT work experience relevant to the position.
  • Must be outcome-driven and customer-centric as well as familiar with agile and lean principles including Six Sigma.
  • Ability to lead leaders, teams, and staff through significant change, using influence, humility, empathy, and collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Solid understanding and significant experience with architecting across multiple technology disciplines.
  • Solid understanding of IT architecture best practices.
  • Knowledge of modern software development, cloud hosting, integrations, microservices, tools, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Expertise in multiple technical and/or functional domains relevant to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT leadership and their organizations on technical assignments, issues, and problems, driving technical decisions, policies, strategies, and solutions.
  • Work closely with IT to ensure that all technology initiatives are implemented within the existing or planned Reference Architecture.
  • Use knowledge and skills to influence others and contribute to the development of strategic objectives and solutions.
  • Facilitate a complex discussion between individual contributors and leaders in IT to drive to clear outcomes.
  • Architect complex solutions with appropriate partners.
  • Contribute to and enhance the Bank's technology and security architecture program.
  • Define technology and security requirements for the implementation of new applications and projects.
  • Serve as a technology and information security subject matter expert on projects.
  • Understand architecture best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Participate in conducting research on new technology, threats, and remediation techniques, make recommendations to the IS/IT and engineering teams, and oversee their implementation.
  • Participate in threat modeling activities.
  • Communicate effectively, clearly, and professionally with stakeholders across all levels.
  • Understand the impacts of the architecture function downstream and articulate these to the business.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and determine the impact of proposed changes to business processes, applications, and systems.
  • Provide technical support to regulatory agencies, external auditors, and internal auditors to respond to audits and examinations of the Bank's control environment.
  • Participate in governance activities.
  • Participate in growing the practice of architecture across IT.
