About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking four Principal Enterprise Architects to provide accountable architecture leadership across critical technology domains. Each architect serves as the named architecture authority for an assigned major business portfolio, enterprise technology platform, strategic transformation, or enterprise architecture discipline. The role owns target-state direction, multi-year roadmaps, integrated architecture models, decision frameworks, senior stakeholder relationships, architecture quality, and measurable outcomes for its assigned scope. Principal Enterprise Architects hold delegated final architecture authority within their charter, integrate multiple subdomains and workstreams, guide major investment and technology decisions, and provide functional leadership through influence rather than required direct-report responsibility. The position serves as the principal architecture advisor to senior business and technology leaders. It works with other Principal architects, Distinguished specialty authorities, architecture and technology executives, people managers, portfolio and platform leaders, solution and domain architects, engineering, operations, information security, privacy, risk, data, procurement, finance, vendors, and delivery teams. Through architecture engagements, governance, technology planning, and modernization efforts, the role oversees significant initiatives, identifies technology opportunities and dependencies, and translates business and technology objectives into architecture direction and actionable roadmaps. It also builds trusted partnerships and helps develop architecture talent. The four areas of coverage are Data Platform Architecture, Artificial Intelligence Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, and Software, Integration & Operations Architecture. The position is hybrid and must be located within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus for occasional on-site expectations based on business needs. Applicants must submit a cover letter ranking their preferred areas. Authorization to work and remain in the United States without current or future Mayo Clinic sponsorship is required; Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
