About The Position

HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales. If you’re interested in developing a career with a real purpose, please apply. As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you are a senior technology leader within HMCTS – reporting directly to the CTO. You will shape the future of technology within HMCTS and will be accountable for the technical architecture for one of the domains within HMCTS including: Crime, Civil, Family, Tribunals, Shared Digital Services, Royal Courts of Justice, Innovation, Platforms and Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise architecture supporting strategic goals and enhancing service delivery in line with GDS principles.
  • Lead HMCTS to deliver a cohesive set of strategic capabilities for your domain. With accountability for the technical capabilities, offerings, solutions and products for that jurisdiction.
  • Communicate business problems, strategies, solutions and issues to senior stakeholders including executive and board level. Provide technical and strategic guidance to HMCTS senior management.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment and integration of solutions that support HMCTS and government objectives.
  • Drive the adoption of modern technologies and frameworks that foster agility and responsiveness in our IT landscape.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of the organisation’s needs, resources and existing landscape.
  • Ensure that architectural designs comply with relevant governance frameworks and standards.
  • Motivate and guide architects, developers and Service owners fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Management of Enterprise architects and oversight of Solution Architects. Motivate individuals, ensuring that they understand their remit and have the tools and support required.
