About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to join their Client Technology team, focusing on Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking. The Principal Engineer will be the senior technical leader responsible for defining and driving the technology vision, architecture strategy, engineering standards, and modernization roadmap for the Client Reference Data (CRD) and Markets Product Fulfillment portfolios. This role involves partnering with business, product, architecture, cybersecurity, and engineering leaders to develop scalable, resilient, secure, and AI-enabled platforms for critical Markets onboarding, client data, settlement, fulfillment, and reference data capabilities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 3+ years of experience with AI products like Chat GPT, Claude, Devin & Gemini
• 5+ years of experience with multi-discipline data design, relational, NoSQL & Document Style
• 5+ years of experience with data replication technology & change data capture leveraging streaming (Apache Spark, Flink or others)
• 7+ years of Experience on data profiling and discovery, business and technical metadata management, master data processing - canonical vocabulary mapping, de-duping, and identity resolution
• 7+ years of experience working in Financial industry

Nice To Haves

• Experience with identity resolution, taxonomies, namespaces, ontology-based systems, and semantic technologies, including knowledge graphs, RDF, OWL, Neo4j, semantic layers, and query federation
• Experience designing resilient, highly available data solutions and implementing data integration, federation, and distribution patterns, including event-driven architectures, change data capture (CDC), and APIs
• Experience with Big Data and NoSQL technologies, including MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, Kafka, Spark, and similar distributed data platforms
• Strong understanding of quality, security, risk, and compliance requirements across enterprise data initiatives
• Broad and deep technical expertise in data architecture, object modeling, APIs, and service contracts
• Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to researching emerging technologies and industry trends

• Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
• Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
• Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
