About The Position

Tebra is seeking a Principal Engineer to design, develop, and enhance its Medical Practice Software Platform. This role involves building a performance dashboard, defining REST APIs, and overseeing system architecture. The engineer will collaborate with offshore QA teams to ensure high-quality releases and will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the Partner Authentication System using OAuth2. This includes designing and implementing a stateless AWS-based authentication system for secure partner API integration, developing REST APIs for partner creation, generating and validating JWT web tokens, and implementing authentication and authorization systems using OAuth2, Cognito, and LDAP. The position also involves supervising backend and UI developers, designing and implementing DNS and website provisioning automation using AWS Hosted Zone, and managing the domain state lifecycle. Additionally, the role requires enhancing backend and infrastructure engineering processes for scalability and reliability, introducing new technologies to improve efficiency, establishing engineering best practices, and improving performance monitoring across platform services. The position is headquartered in Corona Del Mar, CA, but offers telecommuting flexibility from various unanticipated worksites throughout the United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Development Tech Lead, Software Engineer, or in a related position.
  • Experience with PHP and Laravel for legacy systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing asynchronous, scalable systems using technologies like Kafka and PubSub.
  • Experience architecting and managing cloud infrastructure with Kubernetes or Terraform.
  • Experience working with healthcare data exchange standards including FHIR and HL7.
