About The Position

Join the Environmental Utilities Department as a PRINCIPAL ENGINEER. This role involves leading, organizing, and directing engineering activities within the Wastewater Utility Division. The position provides engineering and oversight support on a variety of wastewater and recycled water system operations, projects, and personnel. Projects include planning, design, procurement, and construction for capacity expansion and rehabilitation of wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, pump stations, and recycled water distribution systems, pump stations, and storage. The goal is to enhance the operation, efficiency, reliability, and security of the City's wastewater and recycled water systems.

Requirements

Four years of increasingly responsible experience in professional civil, environmental or traffic engineering.
Two years of supervisory responsibility.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferably with major course work in civil, environmental, or traffic engineering or a closely related field.
Possession of a California driver’s license by date of appointment.
Possession of a current certificate of registration as a Professional Civil Engineer or Professional Traffic Engineer in California by date of application.

Responsibilities
