About The Position

As a Principal Engineer - Variant Configuration you will design, develop, and maintain SAP Variant Configuration (VC) models, including characteristics, classes, dependencies, and configuration profiles. You will troubleshoot and resolve configuration-related issues and improve VC models for performance and usability. You will create SAP Bills of Material to support planning, manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering functions. You will also support system upgrades, testing, and deployments and ensure SAP master data integrity, quality, compliance, and consistency. You will report to the Product Data Management Lead and be located in Columbia, SC. Remote Opportunity. We are looking for occasional attendance at the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility so you must be local to Columbia, SC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 15+ years of experience
  • SAP Variant Configuration experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating SAP BoM models
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience supporting SAP system upgrades
  • Knowledge of overall design of Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR)
  • Interpret and document complex business processes
  • Experience with Power BI

Responsibilities

  • Support SAP Variant Configuration processes
  • Process engineering change notices in the SAP BoM database
  • Originate supporting documentation to meet internal and external customer requirements
  • Value the prevention of errors using human performance tools and independent verification
  • Verify the work of peers and provide technical guidance, training, and direction to others
  • Lead project teams, including Master Data Management teams
  • Manage SAP Material Master data activities, such as routine maintenance and data cleansing efforts
  • Implement master data setup, validations, and maintenance following business procedures, processes, and work instructions
