About The Position

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead with hardware design and manufacturing experience. This position is located in Linthicum, MD. This IPT Lead will be required to lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a very important sector priority program with many time-critical elements and high management visibility. They will interface with personnel in the factory test cells, Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance. In addition, they will brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress. The selected candidate will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. The selected candidate is expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills. These roles are contingent upon candidates having a current, Active Government Secret clearance. These are contingent upon Program Awards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or STEM-related degree, with 5 years of industry experience, or master’s degree and 3 years of industry experience. An additional 4 years’ experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • Active Secret clearance required to start.
  • Experience with hardware design and/or test equipment design
  • Experience with hardware in factory production and factory test environment
  • Available full-time onsite at the Northrop Grumman BWI facility in Maryland during first shift
  • Leadership experience that may be in areas such as project planning, cost & schedule management including tracking, manufacturing support, vendor support, design team lead, or similar.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience leading a team
  • Experience working Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCAs) investigations
  • Experience collaborating with Engineers, Operators, Quality and Management in support of production hardware in the factory
  • Experience developing and executing project schedules
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
  • Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus
