Principal Engineer , Software/Firmware - CXL/PCIe
About The Position
Marvell is a leading provider of innovative technologies, including ultra-fast read channels, high-performance processors, leading edge transceivers, highly efficient analog designs, and powerful cryptographic engines. These solutions address all segments of the hard disk drive (HDD) and solid-state drive (SSD) electronics markets, providing complete solutions including controllers, product firmware, and reference board designs. Many of the same technologies have been utilized in Marvell system solutions products, powering PCs, servers, cloud, and enterprise systems. This role involves leading and managing a team of firmware engineers in the development of CXL and PCIe End Point devices. The position is responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of software for Marvell. It requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep technical background. The engineer will contribute to project goals and schedules, demonstrate leadership across a distributed engineering team, and work with various cross-functional groups. Responsibilities also include mentoring and training the team, managing engineering resource allocation, recruiting and retaining talent, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in computer science/ computer engineering
- 12+ years of experience in semiconductor industry
- Known track record for developing embedded system
- Lead teams with more than 5 people.
- Lead teams for developing pcie endpoint devices
- Debugging experience in embedded environments.
- Good knowhow of embedded systems and RTOS
- Strong knowledge of Arm Cortex-M, Cortex-A,and RISC-V architectures
- Proficiency in C programming, FW debugging tools, and embedded development workflows
- Experience with Zephyr or other RTOS environments
- Ability to write drivers for UART, SPI, I2C/I3C, USB, and PCIe
- Strong understanding of Arm TrustZone and secure firmware, and secure boot flows
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of firmware engineers involved in the development of CXL and PCIe End Point devices of Marvell.
- Responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of software for Marvell.
- Contribute to the development of project goals and schedules.
- Demonstrate leadership and execute projects across a highly distributed engineering team.
- Work with various cross-functional groups such as Architect, other development teams, QA/Validation, System Test, Product Management, Product Documentation, Customer teams.
- Collaborate with teams across various sites.
- Responsible to mentor and train the team.
- Manage the engineering resource allocation.
- Recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent.
