Principal Engineer, Rotating Equipment
About The Position
Venture Global LNG is seeking a Principal Engineer, Rotating Equipment to serve as a resident Subject Matter Expert, providing advice and guidance on Rotating Equipment system engineering issues. This role involves specifying and reviewing equipment designs, selections, ratings, and specifications for new LNG projects and existing equipment modifications. The engineer will also update and maintain corporate engineering specifications for rotating equipment, lead the development of solutions for LNG plant machinery technical issues, and provide technical guidance and mentoring to teammates and junior engineers. Responsibilities include participating in HAZOP reviews, design reviews, and safety assessments, ensuring compliance with industry standards like API and ASME, and witnessing rotating equipment testing. The role also requires providing field assistance during plant startups, shutdowns, or upsets, offering day-to-day support to Maintenance & Operations teams, and providing advanced diagnostic support for rapid production recovery in case of equipment failure or outages. A Professional Engineering License is required.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a resident company Subject Matter Expert, providing advice and guidance on Rotating Equipment system engineering issues.
- Specify and review equipment designs, selections, ratings, and specifications for new LNG projects including existing equipment modifications.
- Update and maintain corporate engineering specifications for rotating equipment.
- Lead in developing and recommending solutions to solve LNG plant machinery technical issues.
- Provide work direction, technical advice and mentoring to teammates and junior engineers.
- Participate in Hazards and Operability (HAZOP) reviews, design reviews, and safety assessments.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards including API and ASME.
- Witness rotating equipment testing such as mechanical run tests and performance tests.
- Provide assistance in the field during plant startups, shutdowns or upsets.
- Provide day-to-day Rotating Equipment and Mechanical systems support to the Maintenance & Operations teams to ensure continued operability of plant equipment.
- Provide advanced diagnostic support, to allow rapid production recovery, in the event of equipment failure and forced plant outage.
