Eli Lilly and Company seeks a Principal Engineer – Materials (R1-R4) to support materials engineering and materials selection for drug product packaging and devices. Support failure analysis investigations on device components, sub-assemblies, and complete devices to recommend changes in materials, design, or manufacturing processes. Provide molding recommendations and process control strategy for materials usage. Collaborate in formal design reviews, risk assessment, and root cause analysis. Complete experimental plans with internal and external resources. #LI-DNI Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related engineering field and 3 years of experience with medical device materials engineering. Experience must include a minimum of: 3 years of experience with polymer materials selection and processing, polymer analysis, and failure investigations; 3 years of experience with product development and delivery of new products and product platforms; 3 years of experience with failure analysis investigations; 3 years of experience developing process control strategies for materials usage; and 3 years of experience completing risk assessments and root cause analysis. The anticipated wage for this position is $106,864.00 per year Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related engineering field
• 3 years of experience with medical device materials engineering
• 3 years of experience with polymer materials selection and processing, polymer analysis, and failure investigations
• 3 years of experience with product development and delivery of new products and product platforms
• 3 years of experience with failure analysis investigations
• 3 years of experience developing process control strategies for materials usage
• 3 years of experience completing risk assessments and root cause analysis
