Within this role, you shall be primarily responsible for developing and delivering a new flight control surface for the Naval Power Product Line. This entails finalization of design, qualification of the control surface, test equipment integration, and support factory optimization for delivery. You will develop new skills to guide and lead teams from design through production execution. You will work with Program Management, Procurement, Finance, Operations, Test Equipment and Systems engineering teams to deliver a full product that drives Raytheon business performance. This position is 100% onsite in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary groups for complete system delivery.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Experience with both Windows and Microsoft products tracking scheduling and budget.
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Certified.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required before the start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with prime hardware design.
  • Knowledge of equipment rack assembly, cable assembly/installation and electronics maintenance.
  • Experience guiding teams through troubleshooting processes.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and Doors or Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the execution of a new control surfaces hardware design, from the critical design phase through production.
  • Work with multi-discipline groups to define requirements, statements of work and verification plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Test Equipment, Production Test Engineers to deliver hardware.
  • Interface and work with Program Manager and Chief Engineer to ensure strongly defined project schedules, budgets, and resource requirements in order to ensure adherence to program milestones.
  • Oversee the final portions of design, development and systems integration activities within production facilities to support transition to production (TTP).
  • Manage risk identification, mitigation strategies and resolution of technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, communicating project status, risks, and opportunities effectively.
  • Support proposal development and planning activities for future projects and initiatives related to the production contracts for this hardware.
  • Attend Change Control Boards (CCBs) and approve system changes.
