About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is seeking either a Principal Facilities Engineer (Level 3) or Senior Principal Facilities Engineer (Level 4) to join their team. This position is located onsite in Clearfield, UT, and supports a 9/80A schedule. This is an individual contributor role. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and operational equipment, ensuring safe, efficient operation with minimal downtime while supporting production goals, quality standards, and cost objectives.

Requirements

  • For Principal Facilities Engineer (Level 3): Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of relevant experience.
  • For Senior Principal Facilities Engineer (Level 4): Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have experience in one of the following areas: Power Systems, Power, Electrical, Electronics, Construction, Mechanical Design, Engineering, Design, Facilities, Operations, and/or Aerospace.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret Clearance within a reasonable period.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Program Access within a reasonable period.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting high-rate manufacturing facilities from a maintenance function.
  • Experience with industrial automation equipment (Robots, conveyors, machining centers, etc).
  • Troubleshooting electrical controls and 24-volt systems.
  • Knowledge of Beckhoff, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Kuka, and/or Fanuc.
  • Experience with VFD’s as well as servo-controlled systems.
  • Interpret building and utility drawings and make the revisions as required.
  • Applied knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and quality teams to optimize processes.
  • Scheduling contractors and provide SOW.
  • Taking ownership of equipment - writing PM plans, responsible for critical spare parts.
  • Creating and working RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action).
  • Annual E-FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) on assigned equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Being responsible for communication for machine downtime (RCCA).
  • Support operations IPT (Integrated Product Team).
