About The Position
Baxter is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support enterprise cloud platforms that securely connect medical devices and clinical applications with Baxter and third-party systems. This role will design, automate, deploy, and support cloud infrastructure across multiple environments. The successful candidate will bring strong technical skills, personal ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a regulated healthcare environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Strong experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, YAML, containerization, and microservices-based platforms.
- Experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable platforms.
- Working knowledge of Azure networking, including virtual networks, subnets, routing, load balancers, private endpoints, DNS, and network security controls.
- Experience supporting production-grade cloud infrastructure and resolving complex technical issues.
- Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to independently plan work, communicate risks, follow through on commitments, and collaborate across teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Build and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) infrastructure, including clusters, node pools, namespaces, workloads, resource configurations, ingress, networking, and scaling.
- Develop and maintain Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, and environment-specific configurations.
- Develop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and related automation tools.
- Support Azure services including PostgreSQL Flexible Server, Cosmos DB, Azure Managed Redis, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, App Configuration, and Azure Container Registry.
- Support platform components and services such as Traefik, RabbitMQ, VerneMQ, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Plan and implement infrastructure changes associated with platform releases and application integrations.
- Evaluate infrastructure dependencies, service versions, support timelines, and upgrade requirements as part of infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, deployment, networking, performance, and application-integration issues across non-production and production environments.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational dashboards using Azure-native and platform observability tools.
- Apply security best practices involving managed identities, secrets management, role-based access, network controls, vulnerability management, and least privilege access.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation plans, impact assessments, deployment specifications, and Jira work items.
- Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to coordinate changes, validate deployments, resolve incidents, and improve platform reliability.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve automation, standardization, resilience, scalability, and delivery efficiency.
- Take ownership of assigned work from planning through implementation, validation, documentation, and closure.
