About The Position

JLG began in 1969, when our founder, John L. Grove set out to resolve growing safety concerns in the construction industry. Since then we have been committed to understanding the challenges and delivering innovative solutions to the access market. We partner with customers to provide quality equipment, training opportunities and trusted support within the access industry. We are a global company, and our products—including mobile elevating work platforms, telehandlers, utility vehicles and accessories—can be found all over the world. This role involves completing technical projects or parts of projects of moderate complexity, managing the controls schedule, and performing complex engineering calculations and investigations. The engineer will deliver results according to Oshkosh and general industry engineering standards and processes, and will be responsible for preparing and delivering plans, designs, computation methods, and reporting. Collaboration with software engineering, other engineering groups, business support disciplines, and external component suppliers is expected. The role also includes providing guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers, researching and updating engineering methodologies, and performing vehicle system controls research, development, verification, validation, testing, and production implementation. Establishing project requirements, developing control strategies in simulation environments, and transferring them to vehicle testing and production are key responsibilities. The engineer will also work with internal and external project teams on advanced control and component development efforts, assist with feasibility studies and project estimates, and support proposal development for funding advanced control development. The role requires up to 2% domestic and 1% international travel. Hybrid work is permitted two (2) days a week within a reasonable commuting distance of the Greencastle, Pennsylvania office.
