As Principal Engineer, you will combine technical leadership, client partnership, team development, and business strategy. Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer registration
  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience.
  • A record of leading multidisciplinary project teams and building strong client relationships.
  • Project management experience, including proposals, scopes, budgets, and successful project execution.
  • A genuine commitment to mentoring staff and developing high performing teams.
  • Experience with strategic planning, client development, and operational oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineers and technical staff across infrastructure projects from planning and design through bidding and construction.
  • Solve complex client challenges through practical, responsive, and value driven engineering solutions.
  • Mentor and develop staff, creating opportunities for people to expand their skills, take on greater responsibility, and advance their careers.
  • Build trusted client relationships and identify new opportunities through thoughtful engagement, networking, proposals, and presentations.
  • Drive project and operational excellence by overseeing schedules, budgets, technical quality, workload, and execution.
  • Partner with division leadership on strategic planning, business development, and client relationship management across the western U.S.
  • Play a central role in talent development, succession planning, and the long term strength of the organization.
  • Help refine and execute the firm’s strategy and growth plan while guiding the day to day operations and profitability of the Boise office.
