About The Position

Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is seeking a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer to support major Power and Industrial projects in Charlotte, NC. This role serves as the senior technical authority for structural engineering, providing leadership, design oversight, and technical guidance across multiple projects from FEL/FEED through EPC execution. The Principal Engineer will lead complex engineering efforts, drive technical excellence, mentor engineering staff, and work closely with clients, project teams, and leadership to deliver safe, economical, and constructible solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil/structural engineering, with a focus on power and industrial projects.
Proven experience in leading complex engineering efforts and providing technical guidance.
Strong understanding of structural design principles and codes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience with FEL/FEED and EPC execution.
Experience mentoring engineering staff.
Experience working with major utility and industrial clients.
