About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer for Network Automation and Software development. The skills for this position are critical to build and deliver a successful plan and service offering taking the organization to the target state. In this role, you will: Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking Translate advanced technology experience, in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies, and recommend innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Network Engineering / Network Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience.
  • 5+ years of Software Development / Network Automation experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience.
  • 5+ years of technical documentation experience
  • 5+ years of programming and scripting skills: e.g Python, Go, Django, Perl, Ansible, Terraform

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a principal, architect, or senior engineer capacity preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g CCIE Automation, JNCIE) preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related area of study
  • Containers (docker, Kubernetes), Helm, Harness, and other package managers or AI driven CICD frameworks.
  • Temporal, Celery and other workflow or runtime execution environments.
  • Demonstrable Software development in Python, Go, .net
  • API experience: Restconf, Netconf, Swagger, API based integration
  • Observability: gRPC, flow data, logging, Grafana, ELK, Prometheus
  • Experience with information security and risk management including policy and standards, information security assessments, security best practices, and mitigation solution design and implementation
  • Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives
  • Financial Services experience
  • Strong leadership skills
