About The Position
GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking professionals to support the state of the art 300mm semiconductor manufacturing and development in Malta, New York. The core responsibilities of this team involve ownership of process integration of semiconductor devices; monitoring performance and driving improvements related to technology yield, Cp/Cpk of inline and electrical parameters, defectivity, and more. The ideal candidate can demonstrate a technical understanding of semiconductor principles and an understanding of a balanced scorecard approach to develop, sustain, and improve semiconductor technologies with quality, cost, and delivery all considered.
Requirements
- Requires a technical (University) degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing or a related discipline plus the below relevant experience:
- BS and a minimum of 4-5+ years of relevant experience
- MS and a minimum of 2-3+ years of experience
- PhD and a minimum of 1-2+ years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience includes Integration experience, Lithography, Semiconductor Manufacturing.
- Experience in Si photonics integration research and development.
- Knowledge of semiconductor processing and process integration, test chips and test structures for yield limiter determination, improvement and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, as well as internal and external partners
Nice To Haves
- Experience with or exposure to (through University Degree) Silicon Photonics
- Excellent structured problem solving and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Lab or pre-professional experience in semiconductor processing
- Understanding and knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, clients, as well as internal and external partners in research and development
Responsibilities
- Taking responsibility for the success of Silicon Photonics baseline integration from handoff of the development team through ramp and mass production
- Complete ownership of a technology module, accountable for prioritization of projects based on business need, delegation of tasks to extended module team, lead for definition of improvement experiments and hardware disposition
- Collaborating with device, process module, & packaging team in driving I/O solutions in production
- Sustaining and improving manufacturing technologies by ensuring product quality, reducing defectivity, improving process stability (Cp/Cpk), and increasing processing efficiency
- Detecting line issues through data analysis and driving appropriate containment and resolution in a timely manner in order to limit the impact to yield and delivery
- Driving cost reductions through expense elimination, line and test yield improvement, and efficiency improvements
- Ensuring product route synchronization with baseline technology
- Contribute to Intellectual Property by writing innovative invention disclosures.
- Contribute to publications and conferences with scientific results.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
