Located in Granada Hills, El Oro Way Charter for Enriched Studies is a public charter elementary school within the Los Angeles Unified School District, serving approximately 430 students in grades TK through fifth. The student population is diverse, comprising approximately 50% White, 25% Hispanic/Latino, 11% Asian, 2% African American, and 12% identifying as Two or More Races. The school serves a range of special populations, including approximately 13% English Language Learners, 51% socioeconomically disadvantaged students, and students with disabilities supported through the Resource Specialist Program (RSP). In addition, Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) services provide enrichment and advanced learning opportunities for students. As a newly designated Title I school, El Oro Way is poised to expand targeted programs and deepen support systems to ensure equitable access and outcomes for all students. The candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of LAUSD's initiatives, programs, the Strategic Plan, policies, procedures, and applicable state, federal, and charter regulations. The candidate will possess demonstrated expertise in the integration and implementation of instructional technology to support standards-based instruction, data analysis, and operational efficiency. The candidate will exhibit strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively engage and collaborate with a diverse and highly involved parent community. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, exercise sound judgment, and implement effective solutions to support student academic achievement and social-emotional learning is required. In addition, the candidate will provide leadership in the development and expansion of innovative instructional programs, including the school’s Outdoor Habitat Classroom, to enhance student learning experiences. The candidate will also demonstrate the ability to lead and support a highly-functioning, collaborative team of certificated and classified staff, fostering a professional culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and student success. The ideal candidate will have experience with Affiliated Charters and Title 1 programs.
