About The Position

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client. This role involves analyzing customer requirements and validating designs through modeling, prototyping, and testing. The engineer will design and develop analog, digital, power electronics, and mixed-signal circuits, including control algorithms and system-level models. Responsibilities include circuit simulation and analysis, designing various electronic components, performing component selection and analysis, leading PCB bring-up and testing, developing hardware specifications and documentation, and ensuring compliance with airworthiness and industry guidelines. The role also entails leading engineering projects, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree + 20 years of experience, OR Master's degree + 15 years of experience, OR PhD + 10 years of experience.
  • Strong experience in power electronics, mixed-signal design, and analog/digital control systems.
  • Expertise with DC-DC converters, active rectifiers, gate drives, EMI filters, and sensing circuits.
  • Proficiency with Altium/OrCAD, PSPICE, PSIM, MATLAB/Simulink, and PCB design/validation.
  • Hands-on laboratory testing experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and related equipment.
  • Aerospace electronics experience with RTCA/DO-160 and DO-254.
  • Knowledge of CAN, ARINC, SPI, and RS-232 protocols.
  • Experience with design verification, reliability, performance, and electromagnetic analysis.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer requirements and validate designs through modeling, prototyping, and testing.
  • Design and develop analog, digital, power electronics, and mixed-signal circuits, including control algorithms and system-level models.
  • Perform circuit simulation and analysis using PSPICE, PSIM, MATLAB/Simulink, Altium, and OrCAD.
  • Design magnetics, EMI filters, DC-DC converters, gate drives, active rectifiers, and sensing circuits.
  • Perform component selection, derating, thermal/worst-case analysis, schematic capture, and PCB layout support.
  • Lead PCB bring-up, troubleshooting, functional testing, and design verification.
  • Develop hardware specifications, DVTPs/DVTRs, test procedures, design documentation, and engineering changes.
  • Ensure compliance with airworthiness requirements and RTCA/DO-160 and RTCA/DO-254 guidelines.
  • Lead engineering projects, technical research, trade studies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review engineering work, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and aerospace OEM customers.
