About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a highly driven and exceptional Principal Electronic Systems Design and Analysis Engineer to join the 777X/787 Integrated Modular Avionics team in Everett, WA. All projects focus on the design, development, and production support of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) Platform Architecture and Airplane Electronic Hardware (AEH) & Software. Responsibilities include translating concepts and high-level requirements into specific architectures and operational specifications, and the integration of avionics systems and components into complex airplanes. Work with a global team and supplier base to implement system hardware and software. Verify designs through both laboratory and airplane testing. Work with airplane systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and in-service life. Within the Common Core System team, these positions may be assigned to work with: Component design, development, and qualification. System Requirements documentation, validation, and verification. Support of System Safety Analysis and Safety of Flight determinations. Support of computing hardware and software, and execution of ground-based software tools.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience working in hardware systems test or design, lab testing, or systems engineering role.
  • 10+ years of experience in flight test, laboratory testing of air vehicle subsystems, components, and/or structures, instrumentation and data systems design and integration into air vehicles, and/or air vehicle system test and integration.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering leadership (in lead or manager role)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within Electronic Systems hardware and software design
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
  • Knowledge of FAA certification
  • Experience with system design and integration during an airplane development program
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated project management skills within a fast paced highly integrated environment
  • Experience with Model Based Development tools.

Responsibilities

  • Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware, and software designs and interface specifications.
  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
  • Solves problems concerning, and provides other support of, fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
