Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrochemistry and battery materials (electrodes, electrolytes, separators)
  • Proficiency in battery accelerated aging for performance prediction
  • Experience with cell fabrication, testing, and failure analysis
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment and communicate technical concepts to non-specialists

Responsibilities

  • Research and select battery technologies tailored for handheld medical devices, focusing on energy density, storage, aging, and safety
  • Write test plans and run tests for performance under various conditions. This will include data analysis and technical presentation
  • Requires publication of plans and reports in product life management system
  • Work with product design teams to integrate batteries into handheld medical devices, ensuring optimal fit, function, and user experience
  • Collaborate with battery manufacturer representatives to ensure compliance with battery requirements, internal quality standards and use case model
  • Identify and resolve technical issues affecting battery performance, lifespan, and reliability
  • Partner with systems, mechanical, and quality engineers
