Raytheon is looking for a Sr. Principal Engineer to join our Space & Airborne Power & Digital Department, supporting our analog mechanism control designs. The applicant will support designs of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA) and Units that provide power and control for mechanisms and other external devices, with special emphasis on design for manufacturing, assembly, test, and cost. This role involves leading or supporting digital and/or mechanism control designs for avionics systems, enhancing electrical engineering skills by working with digital and/or analog hardware, testing and debugging complex circuit card assemblies or electro-mechanical systems. Prior hands-on troubleshooting experience is preferred. The role also includes supporting component level design and test reviews. Raytheon has a strong culture of mentoring; it is expected that employees will be both mentors and mentees. Collaboration with both Functional and Program higher level management, as well as with Customers and Suppliers is expected. Assignments may require some travel (~25%) and may include being a team member or guiding a team through several phases of hardware systems lifecycle such as designs and analysis; architecting new electronic systems; developing and documenting subsystem requirements and test plans; peer reviews of designs as a subject matter expert; presentations to peers, management, and government customers; and root-cause failure investigations.
