About The Position

Based in Wilmington, MA, the Principal Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in shaping innovative power and electrical solutions from concept through production. In this highly visible position, you'll lead complex engineering initiatives across applied research, design, development, testing, manufacturing, and product documentation, helping bring cutting-edge technologies to market. You'll work directly with customers to understand their technical requirements, translate needs into effective engineering solutions, and influence product direction. Leveraging your technical expertise and systems-level thinking, you'll identify design challenges, recommend innovative solutions, and evaluate how engineering decisions impact product performance, manufacturability, reliability, and the overall customer experience. As a technical leader, you'll provide guidance and mentorship to engineers and engineering technicians, helping drive project success while fostering technical excellence across the team. You'll collaborate with senior leaders, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders both inside and outside the organization, serving as a trusted expert and key contributor to strategic engineering efforts. Requirements

  • Proven professional skills as an experienced engineer with a full understanding of medical practices and company policies/procedures (10+ years of experience)
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems independently
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide technical mentoring other team members
  • Experience with influencing and negotiating in complex situations
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design and analysis of systems, products, and subsystems/circuits to specification, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goals.
  • Responsible to diagnose issues of diverse scope with design, field performance, reliability and test yields of products and recommend/implement corrective actions to address
  • Assumes responsibility for the success of the product/system in the customers' applications and recommend/implement corrective actions as needed
  • Follows key engineering procedures in the Product Development Process and ECO process
  • Work with manufacturing locations and supply chain groups to implement cost reductions, manufacturability improvements, and quality improvements for existing products
