About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to support the Remote Visual Assessment (RVA) program in Clearfield, UT. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems, infrastructure, and equipment to support government mission and operations. The engineer will apply electrical engineering principles to design new systems, modify existing ones, and troubleshoot issues, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. Responsibilities include performing electrical analysis, simulations, and testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, aerospace), and developing technical documentation like schematics, reports, and test plans. The role also requires providing technical support to junior engineers. Proficiency in CAD design tools, experience with electrical systems, and a strong understanding of power distribution, control systems, and signal processing are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree with 3 years’ experience; PhD with 1 year experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience in full lifecycle of electrical system development and deployment – design, test, production phases.
  • Proven technical writing capability and experience communicating technical and programmatic data in presentations, reviews, papers, etc.
  • Experience and knowledge with using and reading engineering drawings.
  • Software and/or Hardware testing experience.
  • Experience presenting engineering findings orally and in written technical reports and presentations.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or another Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
