This role, based in New York City, will support major projects across the five boroughs, the wider New York metropolitan area, and the North America region. The position is for someone ready to help teams work smarter and deliver better outcomes for clients and communities, with a focus on transit, airports, water resilience, coastal protection, and energy transition. Mott MacDonald's Digital Services team provides leadership and support for high-profile infrastructure projects, combining project delivery experience, engineering understanding, and digital expertise to enhance clarity, confidence, and consistency in project execution. The team is expanding its capabilities across North America, seeking leaders to shape this growth from New York City.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in project delivery, project management, design management, infrastructure delivery, or a related engineering/project environment.
  • Experience working on complex projects where coordination, planning, information flow, stakeholder alignment, and problem-solving were critical to success.
  • Ability to lead, plan, guide, and problem solve in a dynamic project environment.
  • Strong understanding of how projects are mobilized, planned, governed, delivered, and improved over time.
  • Awareness of how digital tools, data, information management, BIM, GIS, automation, and analytics can improve project delivery.
  • Ability to translate between project delivery needs and technical digital solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and teamworking skills, with the ability to build trust, create momentum, and help people work together effectively across offices, disciplines, clients, and delivery partners.
  • Confidence working with senior project leaders, discipline leads, clients, and technical specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide the application of digital delivery approaches on major projects in New York City and across the region.
  • Help project teams understand delivery needs, information flow, and the role of digital methods.
  • Work with project leadership, discipline leads, clients, and delivery teams to understand project challenges and translate them into clear digital delivery requirements.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of digital delivery workstreams, including information management, BIM, GIS, business intelligence, automation, project controls integration, and connected data environments.
  • Help project teams set up practical, repeatable ways of working that improve coordination, reduce rework, support better decisions, and create more reliable delivery outcomes.
  • Coordinate and guide technical specialists, including information managers, BIM managers, GIS managers, document control teams, data specialists, and automation leads.
  • Support proposals and major pursuits by defining credible, delivery-focused digital strategies.
  • Work closely with project managers and delivery leaders to ensure digital delivery is embedded in project planning, governance, risk management, commercial awareness, and day-to-day execution.
  • Bring structure to complex problems by developing clear plans, defining responsibilities, setting priorities, and helping teams move from discussion to action.
  • Build confidence across project teams by making digital delivery understandable, purposeful, and connected to real project outcomes.
  • Share lessons learned across projects so that good practice is reused and improved.
  • Mentor and support emerging digital delivery leaders and help grow the capability of the New York City and wider North America team.
  • Participate in the leadership of the Digital Services team, including engaging with leaders to identify opportunities for digital delivery, supporting recruitment and development, collaborating with colleagues across the North American Digital Delivery Network, helping develop repeatable methods and playbooks, providing peer review and advice, and helping build a team culture.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the North American Digital Delivery Network to build a practical, consistent, and project-led digital delivery culture.
  • Help develop repeatable methods, playbooks, templates, and delivery models that support major project mobilization and execution.
  • Provide peer review, advice, and problem-solving support to projects that need digital delivery leadership.
  • Help build a team culture that is open, accountable, inclusive, and focused on solving meaningful delivery challenges together.
