About The Position

We are seeking a Principal Database Engineer for a wireless & broadcast communications provider in Woburn, MA. This role involves leading all aspects of the design, development, and delivery of database, business intelligence, data warehouse, and data integration solutions. You will partner cross-functionally to provide expert technical knowledge and leadership guidance, ensuring solid, scalable, and robust solutions. The position requires engaging with business users to extract complex requirements and priorities, proposing appropriate solutions, and championing development standards and industry best practices. You will also assist the organization in understanding, testing, and incubating new technologies and best practices to support business drivers. Leading technical teams in the design and development of data solutions with expert technical and architectural guidance is a key aspect of this role. Responsibilities include designing logical and physical data models, ETL jobs, and repository metadata for various functional departments utilizing data from the telecommunications or real estate industry. You will create and maintain all database models, and audit/review performance metrics for data integration solutions and queries to ensure adherence to SLAs and system health.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related field, plus 10 years of experience in job offered or Technical Lead/Consultant/Principal/Senior Consultant.
• Master’s degree in stated fields plus 8 years of experience in job offered or Technical Lead/Consultant/Principal/Senior Consultant.
• 6 years of experience using the following (which may have been gained concurrently): Relational database, ETL, data warehouse, and business intelligence
• Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, or SVN
• SQL and PL/SQL programming language
• Kimball methodology, star or snowflake schemas, and semantic layer design
• SQL Developer, SQL Server Management Studio, and SQL Server Database
• Oracle 10g databases, Oracle GoldenGate, and Oracle Data Integrator Platform
• Designing and developing data integration solutions using ODI Studio Topology and ODI models
• Master and Work Repositories
• Business Intelligence Platform OAS Enterprise Manager
• OAS Repository Development or Enterprise BI Tool Metadata development
• OAS Data visualization
• Essbase Cubes development
• OAS Admin
• Power BI

Responsibilities

• Champion and create Company development standards or industry best practices across business intelligence and data warehouse solutions.
• Assist the organization with understanding, testing, and incubating the newest technology advances and best practices, leveraging both to support business drivers for future use.
• Lead technical teams in the design and development of data solutions by providing expert technical and architectural guidance.
• Design logical and physical data models, ETL jobs, and repository metadata for a variety of functional departments that utilize data from the telecommunications or real estate industry.
• Create and maintain all database models.
• Audit and review performance metrics for new and existing data integration solutions and database queries to ensure adherence to service level agreements as well as system health.
