About The Position
Motorola Solutions is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to architect and develop advanced AI and voice-based systems for public safety applications. This role involves creating solutions that enable police officers to perform searches and manage data efficiently. You will work with cutting-edge technologies like LLMs, natural language processing, and cloud services to build robust and scalable systems. The position also includes mentoring junior data scientists and managing research projects.
Requirements
- Masters degree + 2 years experience or Bachelors degree + 5 years experience.
- Experience with Azure, Google and AWS cloud services to deploy services and containers.
- Natural language database queries in an end-to-end public safety ecosystem.
- Work with LLMs designing prompts and fine tuning for specific tasks.
- Build chatbots using various frameworks such as Rasa, Voiceflow and Google DFCX.
- Develop AI text processing algorithms that enable free text and voice-based interactions between humans and large computer systems.
- Develop queries that are optimized to retrieve data fast while reading from ELK stack.
- Develop and evaluate custom datasets to assess and fine-tune STT (speech to text) and TTS (text to speech) models for optimal performance and continuous improvement.
- Managing cloud-based provisioning system with real-time updates and radio integration.

Responsibilities
- Architect a voice-based chat system for police officer searches (location, person, etc.).
- Develop AI text processing for ASR text (capitalization, digitization, punctuation).
- Build AI algorithms to convert unstructured data to structured data for searching large datasets.
- Design new ways to create parsers for general search-based applications using LLMs.
- Manage interns and guide them on data science projects.
- Design REST API and build data governance for data quality, security, and privacy.
- Deploy services and containers using Azure, Google, and AWS cloud services.
- Implement natural language database queries within a public safety ecosystem.
- Work with LLMs, including designing prompts and fine-tuning for specific tasks.
- Build chatbots using frameworks like Rasa, Voiceflow, and Google DFCX.
- Develop AI text processing algorithms for human-computer interaction via free text and voice.
- Mentor junior data scientists in NLP and text processing algorithm development.
- Design multilingual datasets for training and testing translation models.
- Develop optimized queries for fast data retrieval from ELK stack.
- Develop and evaluate custom datasets to fine-tune STT and TTS models.
- Manage cloud-based provisioning systems with real-time updates and radio integration.
