About The Position

Oasis Health Partners is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to build a world-class data science function. This role will focus on improving patient outcomes through data, machine learning/AI, and operational execution. The Principal Data Scientist will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining data marts and machine learning models, as well as assessing the impact of clinical interventions. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with extensive experience in health plan and clinical data, proficient in DBT for data mart creation and machine learning model development. Oasis Health Partners supports independent primary care practices in Medicare value-based care programs, providing data, tools, and teams to enhance care delivery and build sustainable businesses.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in healthcare analytics with hands-on expertise in real-world data
  • Advanced SQL skills for complex data analysis and reporting
  • Advanced Python skills for building and productionalizing machine learning models
  • Experience in developing impactful BI reports and dashboards for end-users
  • Quick learner with a demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies
  • Comfortable working in the ambiguity and rapid change of a startup environment
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teams, including operational and clinical teams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without a current or future visa sponsorship
  • Must be currently residing in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience at a health plan or Managed Service Organization
  • Familiarity with Medicare Advantage populations and their unique healthcare needs
  • Background in value-based care organizations
  • Experience with the Oasis data stack, including AWS, DBT, and Snowflake

Responsibilities

  • Own our machine learning strategy and execution
  • Build foundational infrastructure that will allow Oasis to scale its ML implementations
  • Own MLOps Engineering – be able to automate, deploy, and monitor ML models
  • Join an Oasis “workstream” and become the trusted analytics expert for that function
  • Build analytics data models in DBT to support underlying analytics
  • Identify additional sources of data we can use to identify / risk stratify patients for intervention, and understand the impact of our program
  • Build out predictive models to identify target patient cohorts
  • Utilize AI/LLMs to advance patient and provider engagement
  • Analyze clinical data we receive from payors and providers
  • Analyze clinical program performance
  • Analyze workflow and operational data
  • Develop the analytics layer to support executive and operational dashboards
