About The Position

PLEX Solutions, A Part of Markon, is looking for a Principal Data Scientist to support a contract in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. This role involves possessing and applying comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments, planning and leading major technology assignments, evaluating performance results and recommending major changes affecting short-term project growth and success, and functioning as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. The role may also involve supervising others.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI W/ Polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 8 years of experience; an advanced degree will be considered in lieu of years of experience
• Proficient in Python
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with end-to-end workflows/projects
• 3+ years of Defensive Cyber Operations experience
• 3+ years of Machine Learning techniques and statistical model evaluation

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in relevant field and 4 years of experience
• Demonstrated expertise with R or Python, and SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large and small data sets
• Exposure to AWS (Amazon Web Services), Cisco (CCNA), and/or STIGs/IAVA, Big Data Platform (BDP)
• Strong background and skills in Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL)/Windows/Virtual environments
• A problem solver who can get in, be given a project, and use engineering skills to determine a solution
• Jupyter Notebooks, Network Analysis Tools

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines for enterprise AI applications including defining appropriate data model concepts
• Develop high-performance data parsers for extremely large and complex datasets
• Implement and manage various database systems, including graph, SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers and data scientists to understand data requirements and optimize data access and retrieval for AI models
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data storage solutions
• Support the deployment and maintenance of AI applications by providing expert data engineering capabilities
• Familiarity with AI concepts in the context of data storage, access, and retrieval
• Continuously optimize data infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability
