About The Position

Hard Rock Digital is building the best online sportsbook, casino, and social gaming company in the world. We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our rapidly expanding product and technology teams. This role will initially focus on building data automation applications for accurate and timely reporting within our reporting team. However, there is potential for this position to evolve and impact all areas of the real money gaming operation, including customer service and data science applications. As a Principal Data Engineer, you will be a key technical contributor, driving innovation, producing and maintaining critical data pipelines, and writing quality code. You will be accountable for the quality, scope, and timeliness of your deliverables. Operating with a startup mindset, we value technical skill, passion, and ownership. We are looking for individuals enthusiastic about data, data technologies, and leveraging these technologies to automate business processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent work experience (10+ years)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience using AI to enhance the full data life cycle
  • Proven track record at using technology to automate data processes
  • Strong SQL skills, including Jinja templating / DBT
  • Experience with Snowflake and Airflow (Astronomer)
  • Experience in environment using dbt and Snowflake
  • Experience with Python including exposure to data science packages (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn)
  • Experience manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets (Spark)
  • An understanding of AWS Cloud technologies and how to create scalable applications
  • Exposure to AWS Serverless and serverless-supported languages
  • SQL and/or NoSQL experience (ex, MySql, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Snowflake)
  • Streaming technologies (Amazon Kinesis, Kafka)
  • Message Queues (SQS, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
  • Comfort working within an agile development cycle
  • Exposure to Linux development
  • Exposure to Git and versioning software
  • Exposure to Build systems (Maven, SBT, Gradle, etc) and common build patterns

Nice To Haves

  • Experience automating data flows and reporting in a regulated environment a plus
