About The Position

We're looking for a Principal Data Engineer who brings strong technical judgment, a product-oriented mindset, and the ability to own data solutions end-to-end—from architecture and modeling to implementation and delivery—in a dynamic AdTech environment. You'll join a fast paced team that builds, runs, and operates the T-Mobile Advertising Solutions (T-Ads) platforms, including our audience building, rideshare, and retail media network solutions. This is a product used by all the major advertising agencies and many top consumer product brands in the United States. This role leads the development and implementation of data pipelines critical to organizational data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. You'll combine technical leadership with hands-on contributions to achieve data engineering initiatives. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 7 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 5 years of related experience (Required)
  • Acceptable areas of study include Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, or related technical field (Required)
  • 7-10 years Related experience as a Data Engineer (Required)
  • 5+ years developing cloud solutions using data services (Required)
  • Minimum 3+ years of managing or leading/coaching data engineering teams (Required)
  • Experience designing and building self-service analytics and big data solutions using cloud technologies (e.g., EMR, Aurora, Redshift, Glue, S3, SWF, Quicksight etc.) (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of data warehouse and business analytics solutions to ensure scalable and reliable data infrastructure
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and architect data solutions that meet business requirements
  • Research and recommend technical approaches to address complex data migration, development, and integration challenges
  • Provide hands-on leadership in data implementation projects and manage independent workstreams to deliver project objectives
  • Facilitate workshops and design sessions to build relationships and align data engineering efforts with organizational goals
  • Mentor data engineers to develop their skills in data architecture and engineering practices
  • Assist team management in defining projects, including helping estimate, plan and scope work and other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed
