About The Position

Advances enterprise data platform capabilities by engineering cross-platform data services across cloud and enterprise database environments. Designs and implements database engineering patterns and services supporting schema evolution, workload isolation, resource governance, automated releases, and lifecycle management. Engineers high-volume data movement, replication, and synchronization capabilities to enable near real-time and continuous data availability across heterogeneous database platforms. Performs deep performance engineering across SQL and PL/SQL workloads through execution plan analysis, capacity planning, and workload optimization. Provides application database administration for Oracle and Snowflake, including SQL code review, performance analysis, query tuning, data modeling, and development support. Builds cross platform data ingestion and movement pipelines using Snowflake external stages, SnowSQL, streams, tasks, and Oracle utilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing enterprise data platform engineering using Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle GoldenGate in large-scale production environments.
  • Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing enterprise data platform engineering using Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle GoldenGate in large-scale production environments.
  • Demonstrated Expertise implementing, installing, and maintaining Oracle replication technologies -- Oracle GoldenGate (Active/Active and Active/Passive), Oracle Data Guard, and High-Volume Replication (HVR).
  • Demonstrated Expertise supporting database architecture, including designing physical and logical data models and performing capacity planning, indexing, partitioning, archiving, and compression; and designing and implementing High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) strategies.
  • Demonstrated Expertise designing and implementing highly resilient and performant Oracle databases with mega size (500+TB) databases on Oracle Exadata appliances and Oracle Database@AWS (ODB).
  • Demonstrated Expertise designing, implementing, and maintaining Snowflake database platform with large number (50+) of databases and petabytes of data.
