About The Position

SynergenX is a rapidly scaling, multi-state healthcare organization focused on hormone optimization, wellness, and patient-centered care. As the company grows, it is investing in modernizing its enterprise data ecosystem. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for a Principal Data Architect who will define, architect, and execute the future of the data platform. The role offers ownership, visibility, and the ability to make a significant impact. This position is open for remote work within the contiguous US with monthly in-office visits required, or as a hybrid model for residents within driving distance of the corporate office in Northwest Houston. This is critical for alignment, team integration, and execution.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in Data Architecture progressive by nature.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks / Spark.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI (semantic models, governance).
  • Strong expertise in Data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake, Lakehouse).
  • Strong expertise in SQL, Python, PySpark.
  • Proven leadership and ability to influence technical teams.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align architecture with company goals.
  • Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken).

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare or regulated industry experience (HIPAA).
  • Experience supporting M&A or multi-entity data integration.
  • Experience with Azure tools such as Data Factory, Synapse, or Fabric.
  • Exposure to real-time data pipelines or machine learning workflows.
  • Relevant certifications (Azure, Databricks).

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise data architecture roadmap.
  • Build scalable data models across clinical, financial, and operational domains.
  • Align data strategy with growth, M&A, and multi-state expansion.
  • Design and standardize lakehouse and warehouse architecture.
  • Establish patterns for ingestion, transformation, and data delivery.
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and cost.
  • Act as the highest authority on data architecture decisions.
  • Lead and mentor Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Analytics teams.
  • Review and approve pipelines, models, and reporting frameworks.
  • Eliminate technical debt and redundant systems.
  • Automate manual processes and reporting inefficiencies.
  • Implement CI/CD, version control, and documentation standards.
  • Establish enterprise data governance frameworks.
  • Ensure HIPAA-compliant architecture and data handling.
  • Improve data lineage, auditability, and trust in reporting.
