About The Position

Dell Medical School is seeking a Principal Data Analyst. This is a state-funded position with an end date of 08/31/27, renewable based on funding and work performance. The Principal Data Analyst is an advanced individual contributor recognized for deep expertise in healthcare analytics and data science. This role applies specialized knowledge and extensive experience to solve complex problems, lead enterprise-level projects, and influence strategic decisions. Serving as a subject matter expert, the Principal Data Analyst partners with executive leadership, governance committees, and key stakeholders to align analytics strategies with organizational priorities. This position provides expert guidance on advanced methodologies, emerging technologies, and best practices, driving innovation through predictive modeling, AI-driven analytics, and integration of complex data ecosystems. This role ensures analytics solutions deliver measurable impact across clinical, operational, and financial domains.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, or related field
At least 8 year(s) of experience in healthcare analytics or data science
Experience leading enterprise-level projects
Expertise in advanced analytics tools, cloud platforms and industry standards experience
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Master's Degree in a quantitative or healthcare-related discipline or Ph.D. in a quantitative or healthcare-related discipline
At least 10 year(s) of experience in a complex healthcare environment with demonstrated impact on organizational strategy
Advanced Cloud Data Analytics Certification (Azure, AWS, Google) or equivalent

Responsibilities

Build and support data systems for TCSC programs, including TCHATT, CPAN Direct, autism and specialty care services.
Serve as a subject matter expert in enterprise working groups, steering committees, and strategic planning efforts.
Identify opportunities to measure patient outcomes, care coordination, service utilization, and program effectiveness across multiple systems.
Develops and executes enterprise-wide analytics strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
Lead design and implementation of advanced predictive and prescriptive models using machine learning and AI.
Translate complex business challenges into scalable analytical frameworks.
Advise senior leadership on strategic opportunities and risks informed by data-driven insights.
Oversee initiatives that optimize population health, financial forecasting, and operational performance.
Establish and enforce enterprise data architecture standards and governance policies.
Lead integration of multi-source data ecosystems, including clinical, research, financial, and external datasets.
Design scalable data pipelines and cloud-based solutions for advanced analytics and reporting.
Implement robust security and compliance measures to protect data integrity and privacy.
Define and maintain standard work procedures for enterprise data stewardship.
Evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies for automation, synthetic data generation, and AI-driven analytics.
Pilot advanced tools for real-time analytics and decision support across clinical and operational domains.
Champion innovation initiatives and foster an environment of experimentation and continuous improvement.
Identify opportunities for leveraging automation and artificial intelligence to optimize workflows.
Stay ahead of industry trends and introduce best practices for advanced analytics adoption.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and governance committees on analytics strategy.
Design and implement a comprehensive data strategy supporting TCMHP, CPWE, TCSC, and LMHA initiatives.
Facilitate enterprise-level data strategy sessions and requirements workshops.
Build consensus on data-driven decisions across stakeholder groups and departments.
Communicate complex analytical findings in clear, actionable terms for senior leadership.
Influence organizational policy and resource allocation through evidence-based recommendations.
Contribute to organizational analytics capability building.
Lead enterprise analytics communities of practice and advanced training programs.
Publish scholarly work and represent the organization at national forums and conferences.
Develop internal knowledge-sharing platforms and best practice repositories.
Guide teams in adopting emerging methodologies and advanced technologies.
Lead vendor evaluations and proof of concepts (POCs) for advanced analytics platforms, AI tools, and data engineering solutions.
Present enterprise analytics outcomes and methodologies at national conferences, professional societies, and internal executive forums.
Conduct post implementation reviews and analytics audits to validate model performance, data quality, and control effectiveness.
Adhere to internal controls and reporting structure.
