About The Position

As a Principal Data Analyst at Walmart, you will lead the formulation and resolution of complex business problems through advanced data analytics and strategic insights. This role requires expertise in data sourcing, quality management, and visualization to deliver actionable recommendations that drive business value. You will collaborate across multiple domains, mentor team members, and influence stakeholders by translating data into clear, impactful narratives. Your leadership will support continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring data-driven decisions align with organizational objectives and enhance overall performance. The Workforce Intelligence & Insights team is Walmart’s enterprise People Analytics group, supporting workforce decisions for over 2.1 million associates globally. The team addresses key questions in hiring, development, workforce planning, retention, total rewards, and organizational effectiveness. By leveraging advanced analytics, AI, labor market intelligence, and strong business partnerships, the team enables leaders to understand their workforce and make informed decisions. Collaborating closely with business partners, the team transforms data into actionable insights that shape the future of work at Walmart, ensuring associates remain central to every decision.

Requirements

Extensive experience in data analysis, data visualization, and exploratory data analysis using tools such as Power BI and Python.
Strong knowledge of data strategy, data quality management, and enterprise data architecture principles.
Proficiency in data engineering and data management within agile methodologies.
Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable data solutions and measurable outcomes.
Demonstrated expertise in identifying data sources, performing quality checks, and ensuring data fit for purpose.
Proven leadership skills in mentoring team members and driving cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent communication skills to present insights and influence stakeholders effectively.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
