About The Position

Forcepoint is seeking a full-time Principal Cyber Engineer to lead installation, configuration, integration, and training for our COTS cyber products. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, brings strong interpersonal skills, and learns quickly. The successful candidate will receive specialized training and is expected to develop proficiency across the full lifecycle of complex software solution deployment.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related field, with 8+ years of cybersecurity experience spanning practices/methodologies, application design, and/or operational environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of DLP, CASB, SSE, DSPM, and network administration.
  • Advanced Windows, macOS, and Linux/Unix administration, including software distribution techniques.
  • Advanced understanding of security design and architecture, Active Directory/LDAP/IDP, computer virtualization, and cloud architecture (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • Experience with enterprise network architecture, zero trust networking, SD-WAN, advanced firewall/proxy configurations, and hybrid/cloud network security design.
  • Proven ability to coordinate collaboratively with customers and across multiple internal departments.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex installation or application errors; ability to work and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the Forcepoint product portfolio.
  • Proficiency in Python, shell scripting, SQL, and XML; expert-level REST API integration and automation development.
  • Experience with SOAR orchestration tools such as Splunk SOAR, Palo Alto XSOAR, or equivalent.
  • CISSP or CISM preferred; cloud professional certification such as CCSP, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Cloud certification at the professional or specialty level; familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat-informed defense strategies.
  • Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., CISSP, CASP+) preferred for government-facing engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering, installation, configuration, integration, and training for Forcepoint COTS cyber products.
  • Deliver training, troubleshooting, and on-site support to customers, including version upgrades.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including as-built designs, requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures; produce executive briefings and EBR-ready deliverables for customer and Forcepoint leadership.
  • Provide technical briefings to customer and Forcepoint corporate leadership as required.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to key accounts; partner with account executives and sales leadership to drive technical wins, support renewal strategy, identify expansion opportunities, and influence the customer's long-term security roadmap.
  • Architect and lead complex REST API integration engagements across SIEMs, SOAR platforms, identity providers, and cloud-native services; provide technical mentorship to junior engineers on API and automation best practices.
  • Serve as the primary voice of the customer to Forcepoint product and engineering leadership; proactively document and escalate product gaps and feature requests to directly influence the product roadmap.
  • Serve as technical lead within the Professional Services team; mentor and develop Associate (Prof3) and Senior (Prof4) engineers on deployment practices, integration techniques, and customer engagement standards.
