About The Position

T&M Associates is seeking a Principal Construction Inspector to support municipal and county infrastructure projects. This senior-level role acts as the Owner’s representative during construction, ensuring adherence to approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Principal Construction Inspector is a technical specialist who applies advanced inspection practices to complex assignments, makes independent decisions on technical matters, and may provide guidance to junior inspectors or project team members.

Requirements

8+ years of progressive construction inspection experience, preferably on municipal or public works projects.
Experience with public works, roadway, utility, grading, and drainage projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.

Nice To Haves

BA/BS degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
PE license or NICET Levels I–III certifications preferred.
Knowledge of zoning, subdivision, and land development regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Owner’s on-site representative during construction.
Perform construction inspection and administration for roadway reconstruction, utility installations, water and sewer systems, concrete work, grading, drainage structures, and site development projects.
Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
Prepare and maintain daily field reports and inspection documentation.
Identify and resolve field issues while coordinating with contractors, project managers, and municipal representatives.
Provide guidance or oversight to junior inspectors or project team members when needed.
