About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to join their Commercial Auto business. This role involves developing, retaining, and growing highly complex client relationships by understanding client needs, acting as a subject matter expert, and leading complex financial solutions. The position requires strategic leadership, driving relationship planning, and originating new commercial banking relationships with middle-market and mid-corporate companies. The role also involves partnering with Commercial Lending Product Management to provide vision and leadership on client and market needs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment.
  • Obtaining FINRA Series 63 and Series 79, or equivalent must be completed within 180-days of date of hire if not immediately available to transfer upon hire.
  • Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory.
  • For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required.
  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire.
  • Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.

Nice To Haves

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of core banking products and services, such as commercial lending and treasury management.
  • Demonstrated experience generating new client relationships, building and retaining long-term client relationships with revenues of $100MM+.
  • Successful collaboration with internal product partners (Treasury Management, Wealth Management, Corporate Investment Banking, etc.).
  • Syndication and investment banking product experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, retain, and grow highly complex client relationships through relationship management, understanding client needs, responding quickly, communicating proactively, managing expectations, and soliciting feedback.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to guide and influence others in growing relationships.
  • Lead highly complex and substantial cash flow, real estate loans, and other industry-specific solutions with enterprise impact, high risk, or significant scope by analyzing financials, presenting to clients, and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the strategy and resolution for the full suite of complex solutions offered by Wells Fargo to commercial clients.
  • Provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise regarding Commercial Banking Relationship Management company-wide strategies.
  • Strategically lead all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise to improve processes and risk control, resolve client issues, and represent the company externally.
  • Act as a mentor for less experienced colleagues.
  • Drive relationship planning activities to deliver the full suite of solutions and maintain sales and pipeline disciplines.
  • Source and originate new commercial banking relationships by proactively identifying, prospecting, and closing opportunities with middle-market and mid-corporate companies.
  • Partner with Commercial Lending Product Management to provide vision, leadership, and expertise on client and market needs.
