Parsons Corporation is seeking a dynamic and seasoned professional to join our team as a Principal-Level Roadway & Highway Design Engineer. Requirements

A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
8+ years of related work experience, with a proven track record in roadway and highway design.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
Proficiency with MicroStation v8i and Geopak is essential.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively.
Familiarity with industry practices and regulations, with specific experience working with NCDOT/SCDOT.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Civil3D and ORD (Open Roads Designer) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee the technical excellence of engineering functions across projects, ensuring seamless coordination of technical disciplines and the development of innovative project alternatives, from preliminary to final design.
Provide technical direction and design leadership, mentoring junior engineers on roadway design projects for local and state agencies, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Prepare comprehensive design and construction documents, including horizontal/vertical geometric designs, superelevation computations, plan and profile sheets, cross-sections, public hearing display boards, design exception and waiver documentation, cost estimates, and QA/QC documents.
Work closely with the project team and interdisciplinary technical personnel to ensure cohesive project execution.
Assist the project manager in delivering project milestones, ensuring adherence to client criteria and scope.
Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for clients and project managers, ensuring clear communication and project transparency.
Assist in identifying and managing project resources, liaising with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries to assemble effective project teams.
Contribute to identifying new project pursuits, gather intelligence on potential opportunities, participate in Parsons’ pursuit process, and potentially lead responses to client requests for proposals/qualifications.
