About The Position

R.E.Y. Engineers is seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to help lead the continued growth of our Bay Area operations. This is more than a technical leadership role. You'll help define the direction of our engineering practice by leading multidisciplinary teams, strengthening client relationships, mentoring future leaders, and driving strategic business development throughout Northern California. As a Principal Engineer, you'll serve as both a technical leader and trusted advisor to clients while helping grow our Bay Area presence.

Requirements

California Professional Engineer (PE) License
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
15+ years of progressive civil engineering experience
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
Strong background in Public Works, municipal infrastructure, utilities, or land development projects
Demonstrated success managing client relationships and delivering complex engineering projects

Nice To Haves

Established relationships with Bay Area municipalities, agencies, and private clients
Strong business development and proposal leadership experience
Experience mentoring engineers and developing future project managers
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and industry-standard hydraulic or stormwater modeling software
Passion for growing teams, building client partnerships, and contributing to firm leadership

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, and delivery of public infrastructure and land development projects from concept through construction
Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for roadway, grading, drainage, water, wastewater, and utility improvement projects
Serve as Engineer of Record on major infrastructure projects
Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, public agencies, developers, and private clients
Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and overall project performance
Lead proposal development, interviews, contract negotiations, and business development efforts
Mentor engineers, project managers, and designers while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture
Work alongside firm leadership to identify strategic growth opportunities and expand R.E.Y.'s presence throughout the Bay Area
