About The Position

The Principal Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, permitting, and delivery of civil, water, drainage, utility, transportation, industrial, environmental, and coastal restoration projects. The role calls for a strong civil engineering foundation, practical design experience, and effective collaboration with project managers, discipline leads, designers, clients, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders. The engineer will prepare and support civil site development and related design deliverables, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in QA/QC reviews, and contribute to design-build, EPC, industrial, utility, rail, federal, environmental, and coastal infrastructure assignments. The role provides civil engineering services in accordance with Worley's, its customers’, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, delivering work on time and within budget. Depending on project needs, the engineer may initiate and manage project requirements, lead civil engineering work, supervise a team, support procurement, construction, and commissioning, and assist junior personnel. The position uses AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering tools to produce civil plans and permit-ready drawings, and requires effective communication with the civil engineering team and project stakeholders.

Requirements

Recognized and relevant Civil Engineering degree.
Professional Engineer license.
Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills, with the ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work.
Sound knowledge of fundamental civil engineering requirements and basic requirements of other engineering fields.
Sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
Competent use of relevant software, including MS Office Suite, Navisworks, and Point Cloud Manager.
Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card and pass background checks.
Civil engineering experience supporting industrial, utility, transportation, rail, environmental, landfill, coastal restoration, power, federal, mining, or infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience with civil site development, grading, drainage, erosion control, roadway, access, stormwater, sanitary sewer, potable water, fire water, and wet utility design.
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, drainage calculations, utility sizing, and design documentation.
Experience preparing design criteria, basis-of-design documents, drainage reports, grading and erosion control reports, specifications, construction plans, material takeoffs, and permit submittals.
Technical proficiency in Civil and Water Resources Management and various surface water modeling platforms, with a comprehensive background in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

Deliver civil engineering services that meet Worley's, its customers’, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
Initiate, manage and, if required, supervise civil engineering project requirements.
Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures.
Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
Aid and advise during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including writing requisitions, conducting technical bid evaluations, and writing purchase orders.
If required, act as the civil engineering lead on specific projects.
If responsible for a team, outline project requirements, promote workshare where appropriate, assign tasks, and supervise progress.
Ensure team services meet Worley's, its customers’, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
Proactively resolve discrepancies between Worley and customer requirements.
Keep up to date with developments and technical innovations in civil engineering.
If required, assist and support junior personnel within the civil engineering team.
Communicate effectively with the civil engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer.
Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering tools to support production of civil site plans, profiles, cross sections, drainage layouts, utility alignments, and permit-ready drawings.
Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
