About The Position

The Principal Chief Architect is a senior individual-contributor leadership role within CenterWell IT – Cross-CenterWell Architecture. The role unifies product strategy and solution architecture across CenterWell's Pharmacy, Primary Care Organization (PCO), Home Solutions, and Humana Military segments. It owns cross-segment product roadmaps and authors and governs the architectural blueprints that guide delivery of integrated, interoperable health solutions for members, providers, and partners. The position partners with segment product leaders, engineering teams, EA Activation, security, data, compliance, and the enterprise CIO organization. It balances segment priorities with shared platform investments; establishes architecture and integration standards; shapes shared-platform backlogs; and translates product vision into delivery-ready architecture and specifications. The role also leads architecture and product governance for cross-segment initiatives, ensures designs align with applicable security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, and promotes reuse and platform consolidation. The role requires extensive IT and healthcare technology experience, including product ownership and solution architecture, Azure and data-platform knowledge, API and interoperability expertise, and the ability to communicate complex trade-offs to executives. It also calls for experience incorporating AI/ML and generative and agentic AI into product strategy and architecture, with attention to governance, responsible AI, clinical sensitivity, and healthcare regulation. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week and is eligible for a performance-based bonus incentive plan.
