People Can Fly is seeking a Principal Character Artist to work remotely from Poland, Europe, or Canada, with flexibility for working hours across different time zones. This role involves maintaining artistic direction and quality, producing high-quality characters, creatures, and props that fit the project's universe and visual direction. The artist will cooperate on setting artistic vision benchmarks, help define the style under Art Director/Lead supervision, and maintain quality standards throughout the development pipeline. Responsibilities include producing work within specifications and deadlines, fixing bugs, and documenting R&D case studies. The artist will participate in reviews, adapt to feedback, and provide constructive feedback to improve visual quality. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are key, including working with Tech Art/Animation and leads on R&D initiatives to explore new techniques and improve pipelines. The role may occasionally involve supporting leads and HR in recruitment efforts and onboarding new employees. Specific artistic duties include working closely with Animation and Technical departments to ensure character quality expectations are met and tuning or creating surface shaders for in-game characters.
