People Can Fly is seeking a Principal Character Artist to work remotely from Poland or Canada (EST). This role requires flexibility with working hours across different time zones. The artist will be responsible for maintaining the artistic direction and quality of characters, creatures, and props, ensuring they are technically and artististically suitable for the project's universe and visual direction. This includes cooperating on setting artistic vision benchmarks, defining the style under Art Director/Lead supervision, and maintaining quality standards throughout the development pipeline. The role involves producing work within specifications and deadlines, fixing bugs, and documenting R&D case studies. The artist will participate in reviews, adapt to feedback, and provide constructive feedback to improve visual quality. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are key, including working with Tech Art/Animation teams on R&D initiatives to explore new techniques and improve pipelines. Occasionally, the role may support leads and HR in recruitment and onboarding efforts. Specific artistic duties include working closely with Animation and Technical departments to ensure character quality expectations are met and tuning or creating surface shaders for in-game characters.
