About The Position

As a key member of the Medicaid Fee-For-Service team, the Principal, Business Intelligence Architect serves as a data and reporting subject matter expert, driving the design, implementation, and enhancement of business intelligence solutions that support MedImpact’s data-driven value proposition. This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders, including executives, engineers, project managers, QA testers, and business customers, to translate complex business needs into effective data and reporting solutions, manage multiple concurrent priorities, and deliver high-quality results with a high degree of autonomy.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree; 8+ years related experience and 8+ years of SME in respective area(s); (or equivalent combination of education and experience) with at least 4+ years leading individual contributors and leaders of leaders; which may be substituted with an appropriate mix of leadership experience and 5 years of MedImpact experience plus an appropriate external leadership training program and internal mentorship with a seasoned leader (VP+ level) that must completed within 12 months in new position.
  • Strong working knowledge of Business Intelligence, Reporting and Data Management Technologies.
  • Excellent working knowledge of SQL
  • High level of proficiency with data query tools
  • Excellent working knowledge of relational databases
  • Excellent working knowledge of a variety of currently used programming languages such as SQL, Scripting and Shell Scripting, etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of software methodologies, distributed networking, databases, communications, and multiprocessing applications

  • Proficiency in Python, Java, Scripting Tools or other common programming languages.
  • Analytical-thinking, critical-reasoning, and problem-solving skills as applied to complex business-technology subject areas.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Written, verbal and presentation skills to educate, inform and facilitate decision-making at management level.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of business intelligence solutions, including reports, dashboards, data models, and other reporting deliverables.
  • Partner with business analysts, stakeholders, and customers to gather, clarify, and translate business requirements into scalable data and reporting solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data, reporting, and performance issues, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
  • Develop, maintain, and document technical requirements, data solutions, reporting specifications, and design artifacts.
  • Apply reporting, data architecture, ETL, and data warehousing best practices to ensure accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Design and implement data pipelines and reporting frameworks that support evolving business intelligence and analytics needs.
  • Establish and promote data quality standards, controls, and monitoring processes to proactively identify and prevent data issues.
  • Ensure solutions comply with internal policies, data governance standards, security requirements, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in solution design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting and data capabilities.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices to improve reporting effectiveness and streamline processes.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to team members, while collaborating effectively with BI, IT, and cross-functional teams.
  • Influence the design and delivery of cost-effective, business-focused reporting solutions through matrixed project leadership and stakeholder engagement.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify and translate complex, ambiguous, or evolving business needs into actionable data and reporting solutions.
  • Serve as a data and reporting subject matter expert, communicating technical concepts and solution designs to both technical and non-technical audiences and representing MedImpact with clients and business partners as needed.
  • Manages assigned staff in the segment area. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Supports and enforces all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, taking corrective action whenever necessary.
  • This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written).
