About The Position

Key Responsibilities: Serve as a vital growth agent for the division by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with industry primes and understanding their business objectives. Generate orders and forecasts, develop and execute capture strategies for designated market areas within radar or space systems. Target existing company solutions that provide value and identify new opportunities where IR&D and CAES's design capabilities can be leveraged. Collaborate with Engineering to align technology roadmaps with emerging customer needs and investment opportunities in either radar or space systems. Core Competencies: Build trust and confidence with customers through ongoing technical and programmatic engagement related to radar or space systems. Analyze stakeholder needs and propose innovative solutions to complex challenges within the selected market segment. Function effectively within a high-performing cross-functional team focused on teamwork, execution, customer satisfaction, and efficiency. Exercise sounds technical and programmatic judgment when making impactful decisions in complex and ambiguous scenarios. Exemplify leadership behaviors that align with CAES's values and demonstrate emotional intelligence. Communicate effectively, both internally and externally, with diplomacy and confidence while being assertive yet approachable. Performance Metrics: Meet new business order objectives for the Defense Systems Division. Achieve new business order objectives for Integrated Defense Systems. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the IDS business development and strategy organization. Qualifications The ideal candidate has a strong track record in driving business growth within either the radar technology or space systems sector. The successful applicant will possess specialized technical knowledge and experience in their area of expertise. Proven customer-facing skills and strong leadership abilities are essential; we seek either a highly experienced radar professional or a moderately experienced space systems expert.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics or a related Business field, coupled with at least 8 years of experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience and expertise in either radar technologies or space systems, complemented by a solid understanding of relevant markets and technologies.
  • Familiarity with the latest advancements in radar systems or space technology and their applications in defense scenarios.
  • Active DoD/Secret clearance, with the potential to obtain DoD/Top Secret clearance.
  • Strong network and background in either the radar or space market
  • Proven customer-facing skills and strong leadership abilities are essential; we seek either a highly experienced radar professional or a moderately experienced space systems expert.
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Physics or a related Business field.
  • Over 12 years of direct experience in business development focused on radar technologies or space systems, demonstrating consistent success in driving business results, within Tier 1 and Tier 2 U.S. defense contractors.
  • Strong business and technical acumen, including experience with budget management, scheduling, cost estimation, resource planning, and proposal development.
  • Experience leading within a matrix organization and delivering results.
  • Experience in program management and/or engineering related to military applications in radar or space systems.
  • For space role, Active DoD/Top Secret SCI clearance.
